Hendrick Eikenhout opened his roofing supply company in Grand Rapids, MI in 1894 and we are still headquartered at the same location 125 years later.
H Eikenhout and Sons was a family-run business for over 50 years, until they sold the company to Walter Kok and Pete Albers, two long-term employees.
In 1959 Henry Schierbeek was hired as an Office Clerk and worked for Walter and Pete until 1971 when he and a small group of investors purchased Eikenhout.
In 1992 ownership was expanded to Dick Sonneveldt, Greg Schierbeek, and Mike Chase and in 2002 Erik Brooks was added to the roster.
