Thank you for your interest in Karl Mattes Company, Inc.; in business since 1926.
Herr Karl Mattes, a Master Chimney Sweep from Germany, came to America in 1924.
He worked with his uncle as a stone mason for two years, prior to starting his own business.
Eventually, his son Karl J. stepped in and built the company over many decades; as a proud chimney sweep and performing other residential chimney, fireplace and roofing work.
Today, Karl T. carries on the family tradition and in 2021, the company will celebrate it's 95th year.

Your chimney is one of the most important features of your home.
Beyond being a beautiful feature of your house, a well-built chimney effectively handles smoke, carbon and flames produced by fire.
When a fire burns, it produces carbon monoxide and other toxic gases that need to be directed outside.
If your chimney is blocked up or damaged, these gases can intrude into your home and you could even be at risk of a chimney fire.
Experts recommend an annual maintenance check for all wood-burning chimneys, especially before the winter season.
