Services

While we are best known for historic restoration of stately older homes in Swarthmore and Wallingford, we work on all types of homes in Delaware County PA and the Main Line of Philadelphia.
We take our work and our reputation seriously and it shows in the projects we've done.
It's not only our livelihood, it's our family name so we care deeply about what we do, and we do it right.
Jerry McCabe was born the son of a sheet metal worker and carpenter, as well as being instilled with hard-working ethical values.
He worked summers with a neighborhood contractor learning roofing and siding while in high school and college.
After returning from the military, he pursued a career in social work, all the while working nights and weekends as a contractor.
In the late 1970's, he left the office world to work on houses full time doing all phases of home remodeling.
Located in Springfield, we were just a few blocks away from Swarthmore, which over the years became the center of his business.
Every year we Americans spend as much money in The Home Improvement Industry as is spent in The Real Estate Market.
We love to improve and maintain our homes.
From that perfect kitchen to the lovely bathroom with the really awesome sink, we enjoy our homes.
When it comes to our roofs we often overlook or don't realize the importance of a quality roof over our heads.
Lets face it Your roof isn't something that you really interact with or even look at very closely for the most part.
If it looks good from the ground and water isn't coming in and dripping on our furniture, then we rarely even think about what is protecting us and our families from the elements.

Asphalt shingles are by far the most popular roof material in the U.S. protecting approximately 80% of homes with sloped roofs.
Use of asphalt shingles began in the early 1900's and grew rapidly due to their relatively inexpensive cost and ease of installation compared to other roofing options.
Their primary function remains the same - to shelter the building from the elements, but their appearance has greatly improved in recent decades.

Western red cedar is one of the most durable naturally rot-resistant woods available, which is one reason why it has been a long time favorite for roofing.
Its rustic appearance is unique to every house because of the random widths, variations in color, thickness and weathering.
Cedar is in a class unto itself.
Cedar is a hearty material with many shake and shingle styles to complement a wide array of building types.
