Adelino and two of his friends decided they wanted to move to the United States to take a chance at making a better life.
After a year of planning the move, they had saved $450.00 between them for the trip.
The trip took them 35 days.
They traveled through 13 countries.
They wound up in Chicago, Illnois.
Once there they knew no one and had nowhere to go.
They did not speak English, so they knew they had to find other Brazilian people to communicate with.
